Opening Awareness
My book Opening Awareness is a practical manual for a method of accurate perception, leading to passionate engagement and productive action. Opening awareness, the method, provides panoramic vision and spacious connection with whatever is happening.
Opening Awareness is the foundational meditation practiced in my community, Evolving Ground. My co-founder, Jared Janes and I recorded a conversation about opening awareness and how it differs from other mainstream meditations.
That was in the early days of conversations in which I was translating Tibetan terminology, through experience, into English. We refer to “spacious presence” as the result of the practice. In the book, I use “spacious clarity.”
Spacious clarity reveals dynamic creative space around thinking, making previously inhibited choices available. It empowers creative, effective individuals to live and lead with courage, kindness, and grace.
As opening awareness pervades your experience, you may find:

You may be coming to opening awareness without having meditated before. This guide is also for you! It is a detailed, practical manual with no prerequisites. It is written in plain language with no jargon.
